Questions-to-Ask-Calgary-Builder-Construction-Process

During construction, it’s vital that you know who to speak with, and when you’ll need to be there for important milestones.

At the beginning of any build, there’s a lot of planning and decisions that need to be made. It starts with which lot you want to build on and then continues with what floorplan and design you want. Outside, you’ll be choosing the style of your home, colour of your new home in addition to any exterior materials like stone. Inside, the layout will need to be finalized before flooring choices, tile styles, cabinet finishes and more are determined.

With so much happening at different stages, you’ll want to have a trusted expert to help guide you throughout the build and help you make those important choices. If you enjoy speaking with the Area Manager at the showhome, then make sure they’ll be your main point of contact throughout the home building process.

Question #8: Who do I contact with any questions and who will oversee the construction?

Every builder will work with clients in a slightly different way. At Broadview, we keep things simple. Throughout the home building process, the main point of contact for homebuyers is their Area Manager. You can ask them any questions and they will also keep you informed as well as help guide you along your build’s timeline. They are specialists in each community as well as new home construction, so they can provide you with answers and also assist with any changes to your new home.

During construction, all our homes are managed by our experienced Broadview Homes Construction Managers. They have the skills, expertise and knowledge to ensure that all our homes are built to our exacting standards.

Question #9: How often and when will I have access to the home during the home building process?

Question #10: What’s your process for inspections at key points of construction, final walk-through and to address any warranty issues?

When construction starts on your new home, it’s a major milestone.

It’s an exciting time for everyone, but also a dangerous time. During construction, your property will be a busy site with different workers and skilled trades working at different times. In order to keep everyone safe, different builders will have different policies on when you can visit the property. It’s helpful to know beforehand how it will be managed.

There are key points during construction when you’ll want to be on-site to ensure that everything is proceeding the way that you want and nothing is overlooked. Asking your builder when you need to be there and how often you can visit will help you keep abreast of your new home build.

At Broadview, we also understand that people’s lives are busy and not everyone will be able to visit their new home build as often as they would like. And so, we provide additional updates (with your permission) on Facebook. It’s also a great way to share the experience with family and friends who are excited to see the progress on your new home.
