Does your home embody the spirit of Christmas? Are you the envy of the street? If you’ve strung together a dashing Christmas lights display, then you’ll want to enter this year’s Qualico Christmas Lights contest.

You may have been planning your display since last year, spent endless days stringing lights on your house and around your yard, and finally, plugged in your masterpiece. If so, then we want to see it! We’re looking for creativity, a house that lights up the street, and has plenty of Christmas cheer. Whether it looks like Santa’s village at the North Pole, an elaborate choreographed winter wonderland, or a Christmas beacon that can be seen from outer space, all will be judged on how well they embody the Christmas spirit.

To enter simply email your name and address to QualicoChristmasLights@gmail.com. Any resident of Evanston or Ravenswood can enter, but no cheating, please. We ask that all entries are of your own house.

Ravenswood residents are entered to win a $250 gift card to Cross Iron Mills and the runner-up will receive a gift card to Original Joe’s. The Evanston winner will receive a $250 gift card to Market Mall and the runner-up will win a gift card to Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria.

Please be aware that judges will be driving around Ravenswood on December 8th and Evanston on December 9th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Please make sure you have your lights on for our judges. If you want to score the most points, judges will be looking for originality, a holiday theme and bonus points will be added for any WOW factors like music or other sound elements.

We want to find the best house in our Qualico communities. So, if you see a display that is deserving of being entered, then please tell them about the Qualico Christmas Lights Contest.

Qualico will announce the winners on December 9th for Evanston and December 8th for Ravenswood.
